Have you gone to the grocery store, or your favorite local Target lately and noticed random bare shelves? Large gaps of white space? Empty fixtures?
You're not the only one! And online retailers like us are experiencing similar things, but in our warehouses. So you might be wondering what's been going on!
All around the world, businesses and companies big and small are facing labor shortages, port congestion, and shipping container shortages. When any business is exporting finished products or raw materials from another country, it has to book space on a container that goes onto a ship and that ship makes drop offs at ports all around the world, until it hits your destination. Think of it like booking a ride to somewhere on a ride-sharing app! And of course, all of these steps are made easy assuming that there are available shipping containers and large freighters to book at all, and that levels of supply and demand are balanced.
Unfortunately, that hasn't been the reality for the past year and a half. The pain is hitting big and small businesses alike. The labor shortages, port congestions and shipping container shortages are all byproducts of a pandemic-impacted global economy. While countries like the US are fortunate enough to be emerging out of a mass vaccine effort, there are many others that are just barely getting started. And that creates a massive trickle effect. We've been working tirelessly with our manufacturing partners and freight consultants to ensure that we can do the best we can, with the given state of the world, while also being respectful and mindful of everyone's well being. That, ultimately, is the most important thing to us at the end of the day.
At Society Nine, we've been working hard to develop new colors of our favorite styles - from our Bia Boxing Gloves, to our hand wraps, to our focus mitts - and more importantly, we've been working hard to get them in stock. As of right now, we expect to receive our shipments by early July. Some of you have patiently waited, and have emailed, DM'ed us on Instagram, and signed up for our Back in Stock notifications. And we can't thank you enough for your engagement, connection, patience and support. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to hit us up on our customer service chat, or email us at email@example.com! We'd love to answer any questions you have!
